The Divine Comedy,by Dante and illustrated by Salvador Dali is considered by many to have been Salvador Dali's most incredible and notable work. Published 1960 - 1964 by Editions d'Art Les Hueres Claires, Paris France.
The Divine Comedy describes Dantes imaginary Journey through Hell, Purgatory, and Paradise. No other poem in any language has such a wide appeal as the interest created by one man's vision of life after death. For the last six hundred years, the Divine comedy, with its outreaching verse and imagery has drawn people from every walk of life into its verse and has been illustrated throughout history by such notable artists as Boticelli, Flaxman, Dore, and even the poet William Blake. My favorite, is of course, the woodcut illustrations presented by one of the greatest artists in history, Surrealist Master Salvador Dali.
